Lowe's, Harbor Freight and Tractor Supply will gladly accept my hard-earned dollars, you fucking embodiment of shitstained toilet paper.

Trump-supporting billionaire Home Depot founder says 'nobody works anymore' because of 'socialism'
Many reasons have been thrown about as to why the U.S. is still in the midst of a historic labor shortage, including a decline in fertility rates, older workers retiring in droves, the lingering effects of COVID-19 infections, and of course, worker demands for fairer pay and more expansive benefits.
But Bernie Fuckface, the billionaire co-founder of Home Depot, says its really simple: People just hate capitalism now. Because of socialism, he said in an interview with the Financial Times published Thursday, nobody works. Nobody gives a damn. Just give it to me. Send me money. I dont want to workIm too lazy, Im too fat, Im too stupid.

(26,507 posts)nobody in their stores works - if you can even find someone to wait on you. And when you do - they don't know what they are talking about.
So this explains it - the failings of HD - start at the top and trickle down.
That's why nobody works in a Home Depot store.
Menard's is my go to place seconded only by Lowes.
I avoid HD with a passion. Sucks!!!

Problem is Home Depot thinks it has to satisfy investors. Investors dont want HD to pay employees more. So investors win🤬

(16,992 posts)give people a set schedule so they can plan around their work.
Anecdotal: A friend of mine was nearing her retirement from HD. She worked the morning shift and did a good job. Well she also had a special needs son and her day revolved around him..About 6 months before she retired her schedule changed from morning day shift to split shift, evening shift, no hours but never a straight 8 at a set time.
She figured out what was happening and toughed it out with the help of her significant other and got her retirement.
Since then,2008, I have purchased the bare minimum from that place. Only the very needed items and no more. They can go away as far as I'm concerned

I have two hardware stores I go to in my area. They can order damn near anything. Pay more. Yup. But the money stays in the community and it's nice to have somebody who can answer questions knowledgeably.

(15,675 posts)Isn't unemployment pretty low right now? Yep, 3.7%. I'm guessing people just found better jobs. If Home Depot needs workers, they're going to have to pay "market price" for them. I think this is how that capitalism thing works?

(10,803 posts)I do my home improvement shopping at Lowe's and Marshall's (I don't know if this is San Diego local company or if they're in other areas).
I don't shop at Walmart for the same reason.
Also stopped dealing with a mortgage broker that I used for home loans and re-fi's.
If I find out that they donate to RW/(R) causes and/or candidates, I will not give them my money so that can turn around and use it for causes I feel will no benefit me or society as a whole.

(8,200 posts)When I go to my local one I see moms who need to feed their kids.
I see dads who are trying to provide for their family.
I (literally) see my neighbor, who has struggled with alcoholism & suicidal thoughts (the police took his gun away) & trying to find a job for years, & now he's in AA & has been sober for several months & now he has a job at Home Despot & it's crucial for his recovery & building a new life as a better person.
If I boycott my local HD, those are the people I'm hurting.
Sorry, I'm not gonna do that.

(13,003 posts)during the Obama years. However it was Cabela's that I would no longer shop at..........
I wrote a letter to the owner, of Cabelas and quoted something he said in Public about Obama, which was extremely despicable and referred to his race.
I told him that he could count on any sales to me, being a thousand or two less than in previous years. As well as the people on my entire email mailing list..............
I started shopping at "Dicks Sporting Goods, and found them to be excellent. The manager told me that they had had a up tick in sales volume of about 20% since Cabelas remark......It had taken them a month or two to figure out why.....

His comment about nobody wants to work anymore, unfortunately most American corporations practice agism and don't like employing older workers because they don't want to pay them for their experience.
And of course he would scream loudly the evils of socialism for any laws requiring a fair wage. He probably thinks business should be able to pay whatever they want. I'm on the side of the guy who said if you cant afford to pay your employees a living wage, you have no business running a business.

(8,710 posts)But Ill continue to shop at Home Depot. Good military discount, good credit terms, great selection, and a big one for me, when I order something for pickup, its an easy process, and the item is always ready.
Lowes, on the other hand, has always been a nightmare for pickups, and Ill do without before I shop there.
