(2,300 posts)Her grandchildren are 2 and 6. This is how she speaks to a toddler and a first grader.
Bachmann said that she told the children that at the moment of death, a decision is made youre either going to heaven or youre going to hell.
We talked about what heaven is, and we talked about what hell is, she said. That hell is just as real as heaven. And in hell, theres eternal fires and damnation and its a real place, we do not want to go there, thats where the wicked will go. And then I explained how they dont go that they receive Christ and confess their sins [Jesus] cleanses them and then because of his righteousness, they go to heaven.

(6,480 posts)I was six yo. Teacher kept talking about the blood of Christ -- showing pictures of bloody crucifixions and a bleeding heart. One night I woke up shrieking with nightmares and my parents ran in. They figured out what was going on at that school. Never had to go back again. But it totally and deeply affected me. It's a form of abuse imho.

Side note. Her brother used to be a meteorologist on a local channel where I live. He left a couple weeks ago.

She is one of the most sad sack anti christian's this world could ever imagine. Minnesota gave us something great in Al Franken, but they also gave us this weasel.

(53,194 posts)"Hi sweetie. Did you and your sister have a good time with grandma?"
"No, mommy. It was scary."
"Why? What happened? Did grandma tell you a ghost story?"
"No, mommy. Grandma told us about a place called Hell. It's this big lake and it's full of fire, and if you're even a little bit bad you get thrown in it forever after you die and you can never get out. So I told Grandma I didn't want to go to Hell, so Grandma told us about this other place called Heaven that's really neat, and you have to be super good and never do anything bad and love Jesus and say prayers all the time if you want to go there. And then she gave me this book called the Bible, and I can read it all by myself! Listen to how good I read the Bible!"
(Turns to Genesis 19 and reads the story of Lot's daughters getting him drunk and raping him two nights in a row.)
"That's nice, sweetie. We'll have a long talk about this when we get home. But for now, just go wait in the car for me."
(Michelle Bachman's daughter goes into the house...)
"Hi, Mary. Did Bella tell you how much fun she had with me today?"
"MOM, HAVE YOU GONE OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?"

I wear a "Bigfoot" tee shirt most days and people ask if I believe it exists. My stock answer; I believe in three things,
Jesus, Bigfoot and Santa Claus because I've been told I have to accept all three on faith alone.
