(115,869 posts)situation where somebody's yelling "I'm melting! I'm melting!" and then proceeds to do so. What's tendentiously described as a "meltdown" inevitably turns out to be nothing but whining and pouting (usually on some obscure YouTuber's clickbait video in which a 3-minute clip is followed by 20 minutes of the host's blathering about it).
Im surprised the click farming that goes on at DU is not contrary to the anti-spam policy, since thats basically all it is.

(51,022 posts)I'd so much rather read the description and see if I want to click through to watch a video. Often with theirs, I do. But almost no one else's.

(8,387 posts)There are some posters who do not post any thoughts of their own, but merely farm DU for clicks with sensational headlines.
Its an accepted use of DU.

(15,282 posts)Even some pretty pathetic examples, like Jim Jordan stammering when I asked if he'd talked to Trump on 1/6, don't come close to "destroying" anyone.
Most so-called examples of "destruction" aren't anywhere near as pathetic and embarrassing as that was.

I guess venting can do the same.
