(3,830 posts)They probly want him to agree to fellate himself in public and on demand any time
any member of the Freedom/MAGA Caucus tells him to.
They may also be holding out for the right to pull his pants down and spank him (or make fun of his genitals)
at their leisure, public or private.

(12,590 posts)Because they think they should be running the show, that the power in the Chamber should come from the bottom up.
These are not legislators; they're committed bomb throwers.

(3,830 posts)Their primary job is to promote themselves on RW and social media.
Their seats in the HOR are just another promotion tool.
They want to be media celebrities and get paid for speaking at events sponsored by
Turning Point USA. They want to sell books and continue the grift.

(9,223 posts)No interest in even learning the basics of what government is for. They just want a nice paycheck, free money from foolish voters and big money from corporate entities who need people to carry custom made bills to the floor then vote for them.

And eventually getting some media exposure, money, and power out of it.

Bobo and Gaetz are attention hogs. This is just another moment in the spotlight for them. They longer they drag this out, the better for them.
Probably the same for the rest of them. It sure isnt about good government.

And the Freedum cranks said "if any SINGLE member of the majority demands a vote on the Speakership..."

(2,321 posts)At least not as we think of it, namely, with majority votes and in adherence to that frickin' pledge and all that parliamentary procedure foofah.
Maybe some distant resonance with the Yippies of yore, Hoffman and Rubin et al. Anti-authoritarian pranks and thumbing their noses at everyone who doesn't bow down to their dogma.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
