He's an unemployed clown with zero conviction or relevance to the nation now. At least a sitting senator or governor or someone whose won a fucking election in the last ten years has some sway.

(14,704 posts)I hope PBO only said that as a kind of 'consolation prize' . . . and maybe as a way of trying to end the vitriol. I hope it doesn't happen.
Perhaps rMoney will refuse the invitation? He's probably so pissed off right now that he can't see straight!
And who gives a flying fuck what rMoney thinks about the nation anyway? The people have spoken, and we're done with Robme!

(7,581 posts)But Obama is a classy guy. This is a nice gesture, even though Racist Romney doesn't deserve it.

(43,049 posts)Obama isn't saying jack shit to Romney himself, but to the assholes who voted for him.
The meeting takes little time and has no negatives for Obama except for the tiny number who don't like it and will forget about by next week anyway. Romney fans might even wake up for a minute or two and notice the President might actually be a decent guy.
OTOH, if Obama says, in effect, "Fuck that loser! I ain't got nuttin' to say to him"-- imagine the outcry and lost time dealing with it.

(13,877 posts)Think about it ... the mixed-race Presidential winner being gracious to the losing representative of the fading, dominant demographic. I guess Romney's plea to Obama to "reach across the aisle" is starting sooner rather than later...whether Romney accepts or not...Masterful Liberal that he is !!!!

(28,581 posts)I believe that Obama was trying to reach out to the PEOPLE who voted for Mitt last night in an attempt to heal some of the divide in the country. Unlike Mittens, he isn't about to write off half the population as " not his problem".
