She is truly an ignorant know-nothing, yet there she is full of confidence thinking she is the smart one. I don't get it.
I will admit that I often like her outfits.

(11,767 posts)When you know "a lot" of things, you know enough to know that there is A LOT more that you don't know. That typically makes you humble and not likely to speak authoritatively.
Ignorant people tend to be self satisfied in the little that they do know. Add in religiosity and you have the recipe for Boebert. She is not very intelligent, not intellectually curious, and at least feigns to be a "holy roller". She has the confidence of "being in the lord". Her loud and brash personality will tend to fool other equally ignorant people into thinking that she knows what she is talking about.

(11,419 posts)so she thinks whatever it is she's doing is what the people want. Yeah, I know she barely squeaked by with only a few more votes than her opponent, but it doesn't matter to her - she's got the seat for the next two years and she's going to capitalize on it.
She does dress better than MTG, though.

(58,785 posts)They'd managed to make their caucus literally a very hostile workplace for women and to purge all but 13 women from it a couple elections ago. Then the leaders were surprised to find that was backfiring on them and quickly arranged to elect a number of women to look better, among whom are obviously extremely unfit characters like Boebert and Greene. Tenor of the times, though.
As I said, discardable. When the Christian nationalists finished their takeover and got rid of the lowlifes and obstructionist extremists causing them trouble, it'd be styled as a return to principled, responsible government. Itm, she's has a huge leap in her socioeconomic status.

The fact that this thread exists is a testament to the success of boebert's M.O.
MTG is a big zero as well with nothing constructive to offer as a representative, yet she has acquired power through her use of shock on social media -- you can't get through an evening broadcast on corporate media without some mention of her - regardless of how negative it is.
Oh, and they're all armed to the hilt, so count intimidation as part of the equation as well.
The saying "I'm shocked but not surprised" frequently heard in media commentary characterizes the shameful state of affairs these days.
