But at some point some form of Schadenfreude Guilt is going to set in and the Democrats will feel compelled to rescue McCarthy or whatever other mainstream Republican ends up being the most tolerable compromise candidate they can deal with.

Rewarding to see Jim Jordan show how spineless he is after his arrogant blustering over the years. He can not even get his choice of Speaker elected! What will he accomplish as Chairman of the Judiciary?

whenever they want to get their own way. This is a dictatorship enforced by just a small group of Representatives.
We are about to embark on an adventure in dysfunctional government, brought to you by the Republican Party. The only thing they will accomplish is multiple impeachments of various people...anyone they don't like, and multiple investigations into government agencies, employees, and, of course, Hunter Biden.
None of this will go anywhere.
They will also block as much legislation as they can.
It would seem that at some point the few sane, responsible Republicans in the House would tire of all this BS, and work with the Democrats.
I hope their electorate is paying attention over the next 22 months.

Russia's corrupt system. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT COUPS UNTIL THE CONSTITUTION NO LONGER FUNCTIONS. Voting is a real problem for them because the voters have input. That's why they suppress votes. They try to go around Constitutional protections by looking for weak spots in the law, then widen those weak spots until voting is no longer effective as a method of self-governance. THEY ARE FASCISTS. Let's all remember that.

Congressional districts are supposed to be approximately the same in size, so it's just a matter of dividing:

20/435 = 0.0459, so it's less than 5 percent of the population.

That calculation leaves out the residents of DC, since they don't have representation in Congress.

Actually it is more than I thought it would be. I should have remembered the representation is supposed to be, even if not really exactly achievable, the same for each district.
