To create fear, distrust and chaos.

This makes for a docile, powerless electorate who will allow fascism to take hold.

in a Mad Max type world, where it is 'every man for himself'. They don't like order and rules and they LOVE their guns. Very scary.

the increasingly greater availability of guns and open permitless carry is totally unrelated. Not to mention the increasing conspiratorial nature of people when it comes to doctors and health workers thanks to COVID denialism and vaccine "skepticism"

Usually just a lot of raised voices. And they usually have less to do with the health care side than they do the showers and laundry service.

When there's an altercation and we call the police, the response is usually a heavy sigh and "Yep; we'll be right there."

This culture war nonsense that evolved into completely disrespecting the experts, setting "elites" up as enemies.
The schoolyard bullies found their pass to act up, pronounce their ignorance as strength. They've declared war on the most noble, previously highly revered institutions and incited the morons into attacks.
When sciences get labeled "indoctrination" by the idiotically indoctinated: we've reached peak chaos incitement.
If there was any true justice, it would get revealed where these thugs get their motivations and Fox News slapped with lawsuits for every occasion.
They've done more damage, created more entitled stupidity, created more chaos and divisive violence than anyone yelling fire in the crowded theater even begins to do.
"Free speech" still has consequences.

who threw a fit sometime last year, over the mask requirement inside the clinic. The guy was in his 60s - not some kid. He tried to apologize later, but they told him he still needed to find another provider.

Trump enabled the shit out of so much of this asshole behavior.
