This question was asked on Bloomberg TV to Representative Brenan Boyle: "Why didn't the Democrats

during the lame duck period to take care of the debt limit"

Rep. Boyle said they had the votes in the House, and the WH was all for it, but it was the Senate which didn't have 51 votes to pursue it.

He implied that there were 1 or 2 votes in the Senate who resisted this, but would not name anyone personally.

Most likely Sinema, and probably Manchin

The country may be paying a price for this at the end of the year

Why can't other Democrats call these assholes out and shame them? That's supposed to be part of having a party, to be able to get people in line with public shaming. Instead, the rest of the party acts like it is ashamed to do the right thing.
