How many more votes for speaker will there be before one is chosen for the 118th congress?

This is assuming that the 7th vote goes a similar direction as the last 6.

Why would you want to be the speaker with this group. I would try to distance myself. The next two years will see house approval ratings at historical lows.

50/50 all committees, no dumb investigations, etc. kick all the extremist Rs who didn’t vote for him off all committees.

He would be rejected by most of his party. He would be primaried. It would not be a pleasant time for him.

At least not in the traditional way. California has top two primary system regardless of party. He would likely come out on top no matter what. However, all the other stuff is true.
