Starting next month, a $35 cap on insulin prices will go into effect for millions of Medicare recipients. The lower pricing is one of the first of several policy measures Americans will see in the coming months and years under the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law in August.

The bill also requires pharmaceutical companies to pay Medicare rebates for drugs where prices surpass inflation for Medicare Part D and mandates that the government negotiate drug prices on some prescription drugs for people who have Medicare — the first time Medicare has been given that power. While it’s unclear how many people will ultimately benefit from the various changes, 49 million people are enrolled in Medicare Part D plans, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

for those on Medicare. People under Medicare age are still being price gouged. My 25 year old co-worker at the shelter is paying a quarter of her salary for her insulin...and she has insurance!

Medicare is basically the Canadian universal health care system, but without having to contend with for profit health care industries corrupting politicians and policy…changes long overdue.

7. Three other issues the ReThugs would like to deflect media attention away from.

And cause intense media attention to to these issues to wane in the coming next few weeks.

1) The coming anniversary date of J-6.

2) Extensive media reporting of the J-6 committee reports, witness statements, and evidence.

3) The Fascist rethug involvement in planning, executing, celebrating J-6.

4) The flagrant lies told by TFG about his tax returns, the fraud, the charitable contribution lies, the donation of presidential salary lies, - etc. etc. etc.

The manufactured media fiasco of the endless voting for the Kevin McCarthy Speakership is far less innocuous than the realities of J-6, the innsurrection/coup de' tat, and embarassing tRump legal issues.

Why not deflect the media spotlight elsewhere for the moment with all this negative ReThugs news coming out. Then later exploit the news cycle with happy happy Fascist fun stuff. Like Hunter's laptop and Dr. Fauci bullshit once they gain full control and get those balls rolling along in the US House.
