Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

Those anti McCarthy people are mostly insurrectionist supporters and have held the government at bay more successfully than they did on Jan 6.
Remember, 147 republicans voted against certifying the election.
Perhaps they want to keep the house in disarray.

The only alternative is to ally with Democrats…and, even if we were willing to cut a deal (which we aren’t), doing so would pretty much guarantee a MAGA primary challenger in 2024 – and, the way many of those districts are gerrymandered, they have more to fear from a Trumpist in the primary than from any Democrat in the general.
