(38,066 posts)1. Quoting parts:
Ginni Thomas, Justice Clarence Thomas's election-denying, meddling wife, joined a slew of others in signing a letter in opposition to elevating Kevin McCarthy to Speaker of the House. Interestingly, Cleta Mitchell signed it, too. Mitchell had to resign from her law firm in 2021 after advising Trump on a phone call with Georgia state officials in which he begged them to find evidence to overturn the election results.
The letter from The Conservative Action Project, which is signed by dozens of conservatives, blasts McCarthy's leadership.
"Conservative organizations and the millions of grassroots conservatives we represent are united in our support of the 20 courageous members of Congress seeking to change the status quo in Washington," the letter begins.
"Over the past decade, the House has grown increasingly autocratic. Rank and file members are routinely denied a chance to participate in the legislative process, committees are ignored, deals and loopholes for interests abound, and there is virtually no amendment process for any bills, large or small," it continues. "The outcome reflects the process: bills that cater to a handful of members in leadership and K street lobbyists, but ignore the priorities of the voters."

cared about the priorities of the voters?
If republiCANTS aren't working for the wealthy, corporate lobbyists, and other special interests, they'd never show up for work.
When was the last time republiCANTS passed any bill that helped the majority of Americans, and not their wealthy donors?

(4,608 posts)2. Something is fishy here.
I suspect the reactionaries of our country are preparing to pull off some bad surprise. I hope those who are able to investigate them are busy doing so.
