Not to discredit what Occupy contributed to the discourse, but when it comes down to it they viewed Obama as part of the Wall St establishment, and didn't support him in measurable amounts. And now you're trying to give credit to Occupy for Obama's victory? That's like jumping on the Giant's bandwagon the day AFTER they win the World Series.

for standing against the exploitation by the 1% -- and for being willing to put themselves on the line against economic/social tyranny. Inspirational to many.

I think they HAVE contributed to this win, especially in energizing the young but also in just being a voice for something OTHER than the insanity we find ourselves in. And even with Obama president, we are still polarized and in danger of being further exploited by the 1% wherever they CAN do it. And we know these forces will only be arming themselves for future political battles against us. Our system is shaky at best.

Occupy is community where there was none. It matters.
