A different Kevin for the job...

Kevin McCarthy joked “it’ll be hard not to hit Pelosi with gavel” when he became Speaker—only months before Nancy Pelosi were under serious threat of assassination by Trumpian goons on Jan. 6th, and her husband was almost killed recently by a Trumpian true believer. Turns out, a different misogynistic Kevin may get the chance to lash out…

Now that there is some doubt about McCarthy ever being seated Speaker, Oklahoma’s own Representative Kevin Hern has gotten some smatterings of support for the office.

Upon reflection, from a Republican point of view, he’s highly qualified. Rep. Hern voted against the Violence Against Women Act and was one of 147 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 presidential election. He has continued to support The Big Lie of Trump’s “rigged election” and has failed to speak out against the violent threats directed toward election officials, judges, and even FBI agents in the course of their duties. Finally, he is one of the richest men in Congress feeding at the Government trough—having had more than a million dollars in PPP loans forgiven. Rep. Hern continues to believe poor folk have too much while the rich have too little, so he’ll no doubt direct policy to address this ongoing, egregious problem.

Kevin Hern…he’s the right Kevin for the job! All the qualifications, and then some!

You should underline "from a Republican point of view". Or add the sarcasms emoji. sinkingfeeling Jan 2023 #1
