There are at least five that do not want him Speaker under any circumstances. There is no deal to be reached with them.

McCarthy may have reached a deal with the other ~15 that haven't been voting for him, but it doesn't matter, because they are not enough for him to become Speaker. The problem is the (at least) five that are "Never Kevin" under any circumstance and McCarthy has not reached a deal with them because there is no deal to be had with them. They do not trust him and some harbor resentment from his prior actions and they are not going to vote for him under any circumstances.

the 1/6 date is too important to these traitors. My opinion all along has been this has been performative until this date happens. I don't know if it'll be Kevin who's elected, but I really feel *someone* will be elected today. Either that, or they're going to do something hideous to commemorate this date. YMMV
