(2,560 posts)But then, he didn't win, so I had to vote for Trudy Busch Valentine in the general election. I'll vote for Kunce again next year if he's going to run again. Apparently he is.

(82,383 posts)I was wondering if he was another Republican running in the primary against Hawley but from your post here and some of his positions in the ad it seems he is a Democrat.

(30,055 posts)Ran in 2022 primary for the open Senate seat, defeated by Valentine. Schmitt beat her in the GE.
Hawley isn't as strong as people think. Some have made their revulsion known.

(35,176 posts)That really was one hell of an ad.
I am next door to Missouri and would love to see this guy win over Hawley.

(30,055 posts)He doesn't usually endorse Democrats but he doesn't like Hawley.

(53,061 posts)mistake of his life.
His allegiance is much more to his ethics than to the party.
I am guessing he will give any opponent to Hawkley serious consideration.

https://missouriindependent.com/2021/02/03/danforth-says-regrets-over-hawley-make-him-feel-like-dr-frankensein/
By being the first Senator to announce he would object during certification of the electoral vote, Danforth said, Hawley set the stage for the deadly riot that day.
I wouldnt say he was storming the battlements himself, Danforth said, but he was certainly lighting the match in the middle of the forest and creating the situation where all this occurred.
In the aftermath of the riots, Danforth on Jan. 7 said supporting Hawley was the worst mistake I ever made in my life.
Speaking with Swift, Danforth acknowledged that those words may sound cliche but that he meant it because I really was part of creating something that has just turned out in a really terrible way. So, yeah, I feel, I guess, a little like what Dr. Frankenstein must have felt. I was part of creating something that was really wrong.
He urged prosecutors to look at a key phone call between Hawley and Guiliani.
In the last election he refused to endorse the Republican and endorsed the independent candidate.
Given his strong feelings on Hawley who he won't endorse curious to see if LK is able to approach him

Fuck Hawley. Go kick his ass.

(14,092 posts)But that was when I thought it was Kunce who was running. That's a clever maneuver. I'm sure when Repubs first see it, they'll have the same reaction, assuming Kunce had dropped the pin, and will probably mutter "Typical anti-American librul!", then they learn it was Hawley and will reflexively direct their animus toward him, later reminding themselves it was just an ad but the emotional memory will persist in their subconsciouses.

(30,055 posts)But lost the primary.
I think he knows his mistakes from the last cycle and has still been active with the party. He might be a good competitor against Hawley.
Btw- it's filmed outside Hawley's hometown.

(733 posts)weren't looking away from the camera. Seems like a good ad otherwise, but looking away makes him look evasive, at least to me. Reminds me of people who won't look at you when they're talking to you.

(613 posts)The stuff about the toxic burn pits and Hawley voting against relief for the folks who suffered as a result should be front and center.
He can also skip the part where he tells us what he's going to do with Hawley. Just called the Coward a Coward and leave it at that. No need to be a macho man.
