(23,633 posts)We're looking into this right now. Someone below said they tried clearing their browsing data and that seemed to fix the issue, although I suspect this is actually a technical glitch at our ad provider's end. It's not just causing Star Members to see ads, it's making ads appear in places where even non-Star Members should not see them. What's a little odd is that it only seems to be happening for a few members. For example, I'm logged in as a Star Member and I'm not seeing any ads, and it seems other people in this thread are not.
Anyway... something similar happened in the past when they pushed an update to their service which messed with our setup, so it could be the same problem. I've contacted them already so hopefully they'll be able to deal with this quickly.

(34,915 posts)I logged out, cleared my cookies and cache, and logged back in. That seems to have cleared up the problem. I've been having lots of gremlins lately. I suspect most of it is due to recent Windows 10 upgrades, and consequent browser updates. Chrome has also been a pain in the ass. Perhaps this ads issue is related?

(9,454 posts)I'm not saying to upgrade just it's not happening for me. Are they pop ups?

(23,633 posts)I've submitted a support ticket with DU's ad provider and contacted my rep. Since multiple DUers are reporting the problem, this definitely seems like a technical glitch at their end.
This has happened in the past when they performed a backend update which interfered with our setup, so hopefully they'll be able to track this down and deal with it quickly.
I'll let you know when I have any updates about the situation, and in the meantime, my apologies.

If a site loads slowly, I switch off Javascript for a while.
