apparently they thought with gaetz voting present that had enough voting members to put mccarthy over the top, but turns out he only had 50% exactly of the voting members, not 50%+1
final tally was 216 mccarthy, 212 jeffres, 4 other, 2 present (gaetz+boebert)
which is fucking hilarious.
they can't count 50%+1
