5. "Day one" was early a.m. this morning ET

where they were *originally* planning to vote on their Rules package after McCarthy secured the SOH position.

But since they are bad at math and lost vote #14 while Gaetz and Boebert "became the face of resistance" and wielders of the knife to twist in McCarthy's back, despite voting "Present" as was begged of them (yet covering for the other 4 who voted for anyone but McCarthy), then their "day one" only began after vote #15 in the wee hours of the morning.

So they ended up carrying out the ceremonial stuff and taking care of a few administrative things like the swearing in of members and designations of floor staff, and then they adjourned until Monday at 5 pm EST.

IOW, "day one" was a wash.
