It is difficult to remain positive in these circumstances.
The continuous and persistent lies seem to be able to overwhelm and defeat the truth.
It is a continuation of the coup that was put into action 2 years ago yesterday.
There are no "moderate" Republicans. They are all supporters of the Big Lie that Joe Biden did not win the last election. There is no way in hell that he got 81 million votes. That is where they stand as they continue the war upon our democracy.
Democrats have one of two choices. They can continue to fight or they can surrender.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

(39,308 posts)Then Democrats can put the blame for the disastrous clusterfuck that's about to ensue squarely on his -- and the GQP's -- shoulders come 2024.

(32,767 posts)I guarantee that the sedition caucus threatened the holdouts. Can I prove it, no, but from what happened on the floor of the House, all signs point that way.
Our country is in for a long 2 years and then we face a Senate election where Democrats are much more vulnerable.
The insurrection continues.

(18,714 posts)Members of that sedition caucus actively participated in the events of January 6th and what was the consequence? They've been rewarded with positions of power and normalized by their presence in the media. The fact that none of them have had to pay a price, even as small as an election defeat, speaks to the depth of the lunacy in their party.
I know I'm preaching to the choir in this response gab, I just can't shake the feeling that we're in for a much longer haul with these seditionists and, as you say, the coup continues
