snip-"The police chief said there was an altercation between the teacher and the student, who had the firearm, and that a single round was fired.
Drew, who had earlier said the teacher was in critical condition, said Friday evening her injuries were considered life-threatening but that there was "some improvement in the last update that we got."
There were no other students involved, the chief said.
The investigation is ongoing, he added."

(3,604 posts)As long as nothing happens to parents who leave their guns around like party favours. The same goes for children firing guns at siblings an psrents.

(18 posts)I was thinking the same at first, but the cartoon wouldn't quite work. The author is simply trying to say many things in this cartoon. The adults are choosing to put guns within easy reach of a child. The (unsupervised) child is choosing the books, but can't reach them with the only available tool. The shadow of the flag in the shape of a rifle is super IMHO. In the end, cartoons can only say so much. I'd like to see yours as well, it could work. I was thinking of a subscription to Guns and Ammo.

(18 posts)Yes, I get it. If they have a Bible, would it be out of the child's reach though? I would like to see your version though. Perhaps the weapons could "fashionably" adorn an Altar with a few cracks in the wall? I don't have the artistic talent myself, or much talent that is, to pull it off.
