(22,908 posts)I'm pretty sure many democratic countries will pull the plug on twitter for another neutral social media platform. Creating hatred and violence will not bode well.

(102,649 posts)Toward targets that will gain him brownie points with the other fuckheads with too much money and power. He seems to want to be rupert murdoch and tfg all at once. He likes their power and wants it for himself, especially the ordering people to adore you part. Or at least forcing them to live as he thinks they should, for his benefit of course.
We have to find a way to knock these assholes off their thrones.

Nobody should be using Twitter at this point. Anything people do on the platform can be twisted and used against them.

https://www.science.org/content/article/almost-everything-tucker-carlson-said-about-anthony-fauci-week-was-misleading-or-false
Almost everything Tucker Carlson said about Anthony Fauci this week was misleading or false
Science fact-checks the Fox hosts rant against Saint Tony, who announced his retirement on Monday
Tucker Carlson, a political commentator on Fox News, has long assailed Anthony Fauci for his role in the U.S. governments response to the COVID-19 pandemic during both former President Donald Trumps and President Joe Bidens administrations. But on 22 August, when Fauci announced he would be retiring from his jobs as director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and chief medical adviser to the president at the end of year, the Tucker Carlson Tonight host laid into him like never before.
Carlson asserted Fauci had committed very serious crimes and said he apparently engineered the single most devastating event in modern American history. Carlson, infamous for assailing peoples looks, also called Fauci a an even tinier version of the Dalai Lama and a Stalinist midget.
Carlson seems to relish criticisms of his comments, which inevitably draw more attention to him and his show. But at the risk of playing into his hand, Science fact-checked his criticisms of Fauci. The analysis shows Carlson took facts out of context and cited long-debunked studies or reports to attack Fauci. He also repeatedly blamed Fauci and other scientists for changing their minds based on new evidencethe bedrock of scientific progress. In Carlsons calculus, such reversals equal lying.
