And now the judge has ordered "all previously redacted portions" of his deposition transcript to be unsealed. What do you bet that lights a fire under the former guy's attorneys' collective ass, and it's appeal time? He wanted those redacted portions hidden away from the public eye for a reason.

Apparently, the former guy's lawyers got all confuzzled when the judge ordered them to respond to Carroll's attorneys request to unseal the former guy's deposition.

Link to story here.

Kaplan in that initial order noted that Trump's lawyers last month failed to respond within a three-day window to lawyers for the writer E. Jean Carroll on the question of whether the pages should continue to be completely sealed or partially sealed.

Trump's lawyers later Monday asked Kaplan for three days more from Monday to respond and detail their opposition to unsealing the pages in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

Trump's attorneys said they previously had believed, as a result of a prior order by Kaplan, that Carroll's lawyers, not they, were obligated to address the question of whether the deposition should remain under seal.

Kaplan agreed to give Trump's lawyers the time they request, keeping the documents out of public view, for now.

So now the former guy gets another three days on top of the weeks that elapsed since the original order back in December to explain why the redactions should remain in place.

This isn't just "key excerpts," it's everything that was previously redacted! Woohoo!
