Get used to multi-ballot speaker elections.

Last weeks speaker battle made for excellent television and high exposure for the most dramatic participants. It’s unlikely we’ll see a first ballot election for a while because politicians now know that they can posture for the cameras. It was the first multi-ballot battle widely viewed in CSPAN. It became a social media hit. I doubt a bunch of politicians will be able to resist dragging it out in the future. I think it might have changed “everything” similar to how the first televised presidential debate did.

But it's not a news flash that they are a shit show.

All Democrats happily supported our choice for Speaker -- both now and in the future -- and did so in a united fashion.
