1. The lawyers immediately self-disclosed to NARA that they had the documents.
2. NARA took possession of the documents the next day.
3. NARA - because it is protocol - referred the matter to the DoJ, but NARA has since concluded that it was lack of safeguards that caused the oversight.
4. There was no back and forth negotiation to recover the documents unlike the kitty softpaws deference given to Motherfucker.
5. If the Bloated Tick sycophants try to shit stir, DoJ will tell them to go fuck themselves (politely).
6. Calm the eph down.
That is all.

(16,406 posts)Oh, I'll just bet they're taking notice! This is like waving red meat at a pack of jackals, and we can be sure they are going to use it to make as much hay as possible! Ugh.

(5,125 posts)But when they were found, they were returned the next day.
Stuff happens, that is why there are procedures.
The difference?
Biden followed process. Done.
tRUMP did not.
AND threw a tantrum.
AND went to the media to protest that he HAD to follow process.
AND sued because he thought he was above the law.
AND still thinks he's pREZ
AND he threw catsup... no that was the OTHER time.

(766 posts)This event happened back in November why's it suddenly coming out now?
And since when does the Justice Department reveal ongoing investigations?
This story just has a "Comey reopens Hillary's email investigation" feeling to it.

(24,736 posts)Get used to this. It's their MO for the next 2 years.
Fortunately Pres Biden has the fortitude, clarity, experience, and integrity to know where to stick this!

(13,514 posts)What does that mean I wonder. At least there didnt have to be negotiations and an FBI raid, unlike what happened with tfg.

(42,757 posts)And when two years are up they won't have diddly squat.
At some point or another they will say the documents came from
HRCs email server located in the basement of a pizza joint.

(522 posts)Remember, a "president can declassify documents just by thinking them declassified" -TFG
Exactly. No question they were totally declassified just by President Biden thinking about them.

(1,920 posts)I've seen a lot of howling on other threads about AG Garland being so supposedly quick in ordering an investigation this time, in contrast to his supposed reticence in doing so with the documents held by TFG.
But there wasn't a difference in how long he took in responding to the two events.
NARA didn't send a referral to the DOJ regarding the docs held by TFG until February 9, 2022.
Upon receiving the referral from NARA, the DOJ opened a criminal investigation forthwith.
In the Biden situation, NARA sent the referral to the DOJ right away.
Upon receiving the referral, Garland asked a US attorney to investigate the matter.
The differing time frames from discovering there's an issue to opening a DOJ investigation is due to NARA's time frames in sending the referrals. It was NARA that acted differently in the two cases, not Garland.

(65,174 posts)I know we cant count on the media to tell the truth, and I dont understand why Garland helped drive the RW narrative by investigating so quickly. But President Biden and staff will definitely set things straight IMO.

(5,125 posts)AND THAT MAGA's is how a REAL Member of the Executive Office DOES IT.
Not someone who IMAGINES they are still pREZ, but someone who was ACTUALLY IN OFFICE, found something misplaced, reported it, returned it and WENT ON WITH THEIR LIFE.
WENT ON WITH THEIR LIFE.
Yes, I understand this is a concept foreign to MAGA.
BUT it is HOW the DEMs actually get stuff DONE.
We see, we listen, we follow the law and processes.
We take care of business, clean up messes and move on.
Rinse, lather, repeat for the duration.
Because whinny toddlers leave a lot of mess in their wake.
But MAGA knows that now, right?
