This is what happens when you slow walk the case DOJ too much time imo

We gave him/them time to brainstorm nefarious ways to weasel out of it all. Now the office documents fall into their lap, and you know what the media will do with that. If only the DOJ would have worked sooner (and Yes, THERE'S PLENTY OF EVIDENCE!). Jack's task hopefully won't be impeded.

And if Smith had started a prosecution, what would be the impact on his prosecution, or a Trump appeal?

I've heard plenty of talk about DOJ dragging their feet, sitting on their hands, taking so long, etc., etc., etc.

But starting sooner? Now that's a first! Although the exact date is unknown, DOJ reportedly started numerous investigations into the Jan 6 riot in early 2021. Are you suggesting that if they started a couple of weeks earlier, that would have made the difference in him/them having insufficient time "to brainstorm nefarious ways to weasel out of it all"?

Perhaps DOJ should have pulled a Hoover and started collecting dirt on people before the crimes were committed?
