CBO: House GOP's IRS cuts would INCREASE deficit

Richard Rubin @RichardRubinDC 4h
First CBO score of the new Congress is here.

Says that the GOP IRS funding bill would reduce spending by $71.5B and reduce revenue by $185.8B.

Net deficit increase of $114B.

Marc Goldwein @MarcGoldwein
ANALYSIS - rescinding IRS funding will increase the deficit by 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, encourage tax cheating, and cut the tax enforcement budget well below what President Trump wanted.

Steven Rattner @SteveRattner
The @HouseGOP's very first bill of this Congress would:

1) Cut IRS funding
2) Make it easier for tax cheats to thrive
3) Increase the deficit by $114 billion over the next 10 years

More great stuff from the party of "law and order" and "fiscal responsibility.”

Once this goes into effect (and it won't) they will be crying that there isn't enough revenue. Something has to go.
