1. One of my ex-Republican friends was friends with a prominent GOP campaign director. He found out the campaign directors views are almost nazi. My friend is no longer friends with the GOP official and is now a Democrat.
2. A writer recently wanted to write a book about the political parties. She wanted to know what motivated the politicians. The Democrats answered their motivation was to get elected. Not great, but there you have it. She then asked the Republicans. Their answer was to move America as far to the right as possible. She asked them if that was really the case. Their answer: write it down!
3. My right wing brother says we are nothing if it wasnt for the rich and called me a Marxist for pointing out that the top 3 billionaires have as much wealth as the poorest 160 million Americans and he said the poor deserve their fate. P.S.: he is on Social Security, which he favors cuts in.
4. Trump recently phoned the far right European far right convention, telling them they are doing a great job.

(1,306 posts)I have worked with multiple campaigns through the years, both D and R and without fail the first question asked of me has been:
D - how will this help my constituents?
R - how will this help me?
I think that sums up the difference between the parties in one paragraph.
