Replacing "the economy" with "rich people's yacht money"

-How do we respond to COVID-19 without sacrificing rich people’s yacht money?

-Responding to climate change is great; but what about rich people’s yacht money?

-Medicare For All would destroy rich people’s yacht money!

2. Am all out of F***S to give for "rich people's yacht money"

If they have to sell a couple of gold toilet seats to finance their next yacht, it's on them for being stupid enough to buy those darn things to begin with.

I mean when an average person has a good life, it's like this:

Food on the table.
Roof over the table.
Working car to get to work.
A job that can cover gas, rent, food and maybe Netflix.
Money to by Birthday and ChrisMaHanaKwanza gifts for the family.
Health Insurance and/or enough of a rainy day fund that you don't lose everything if you get sick.

Rich people with multiple homes, yachts and made up problems are just pathetic.

They can pay their fair share.

A well-functioning tax system requires that everyone pays the taxes they owe. Today, the “tax gap”—the difference between taxes that are owed and collected—totals around $600 billion annually and will mean approximately $7 trillion of lost tax revenue over the next decade. The sheer magnitude of lost revenue is striking: it is equal to 3 percent of GDP, or all the income taxes paid by the lowest earning 90 percent of taxpayers.

The tax gap can be a major source of inequity. Today’s tax code contains two sets of rules: one for regular wage and salary workers who report virtually all the income they earn; and another for wealthy taxpayers, who are often able to avoid a large share of the taxes they owe. As Table 1 demonstrates, estimates from academic researchers suggest that more than $160 billion lost annually is from taxes that top 1 percent choose not to pay.

3. The definition of "rich" is dynamic, that's the problem...

I believe John Kerry was among the first to try to define “rich” in a national forum as a candidate.

I think the struggle is between ideologies at this point. There exists a worldwide push to right wing authoritarianism. That those movements are funded and pushed by the “rich” is alarming, and it won’t stop because money equals power. I know, Captain Obvious.

6. The rich are nothing without the non rich (and inherited millions)

The non rich have to go on strike for a living wage. While the CEO can look forward to a multi million dollar Christmas bonus, provided by the labor of those going on strike.

Can billionaires deduct the money they use to buy republicans who will ensure the billionaires are richer next year?

Those on social security like me can thank democrats for it.

8. Kind of like all the BS that springs from the Ayn Rand books.

Labor built everything. The wealthy is largely made up of con artists that found a way to exploit the work of others while doing none themselves.
I'm at an age where I'm really over it. If I had the skills to start my own business I would, but I'm sick of being treated like a fast-food worker when I'm a healthcare worker in a field that requires an advanced degree.
