picture look better. Seriously.

Though their previous purge of women from the house caucus (down to 13 from over 200 at one point) and turning it literally into a hostile workplace finally resulted in rebellion and public speaking out, so the women themselves may have fought for a third one too.

Black people? Only 13%, not 50%.

used to be their token woman. Whenever a republican leader(s) was speaking to the press, they'd put her in the background, though she rarely said anything. Personally, I think she finally got fed up with it and perhaps felt she had better things to do than be a part of their phony photo op.

In the senate, it was Kelly Ayotte who played the token woman role for a long time. It is all performance with these people, a lot of stage-setting, but no real substance.

I was reading a long NYT's article about her. ("The Invention of" ES.) She has drive and ambition, but because of what those guys are, I wonder if her elevation is much more secure than as a higher-level female token. She offered her gender and absolute loyalty as top qualifications for replacing Liz Cheney, and they're why she was chosen.

She's come through, all right, abandoning all that people once thought she was (exposing her own "no real substance" ) to align with men who're mostly emotionally and increasingly ideologically opposed to women in power. At least she can rely on tRump to reward her ultra-MAGA services to him.

Byron Donalds! She reportedly really wanted to run for party whip, but strong male competition might well have squeezed her out of power altogether and she scurried to secure her position when Donalds put himself out.

The article points out, though, what a terrible job whip'll be in this congress and she may come out far better off. (Such a shame.) The lucky male who got it is of course now already famous for his historic fail to deliver the votes for McCarthy's speakership...

Well, we expected to find things to enjoy in their takeover.

for Speaker and she often looked uncomfortable and out of place. Kind of like a kid in high school who doesn't really fit in anywhere. Then when she was around McCarthy, she put on her huge grin, but I don't think her colleagues really like her very much. Once again, another token female who will take their abuse to further her career.

I'd say that most of them don't trust anyone in their party these days. Looks like a horrible workplace environment. People like McCarthy, Gaetz, Greene, and Stefanik are probably the worst. Talk about swimming with sharks!

She’s my “rep” and I have called her office several times to find out why she was in Moscow meeting with Putin, I have never gotten an answer.

Perhaps she was selling Lockheed Martin secrets. They funnel her a lot of corporate money.

Plus her son is on the development team to revitalize Fort Worth’s Trinity River project.
