Are the Republicans willing to crash the debt ceiling?

My answer is yes. These fuckers are straight up barking @ the moon bat shit nuts and they
have been getting misinformation from billionaires, hate talk radio/tv/social media, Russia
and they have members who have actively worked to spread C-19 for their machevellian ends.
So they really don't care if they put millions of people out of work, hurt the full faith and credit
of the U.S. Government, make the capital with which our economy and Federal Government runs
on much more expensive, and plunge the world's economy into "shitsville." I might be
nuttier than a squirrel turd but I think this is one more part in their coup to take power for
their Christo Fascist dreams and all the hurt pain their actions will cause are fine by them.
They have been getting their economic (mis)information from nutballs such as Dan Bongino.

Remember these people knowingly let Russia install Trump into the White House, supported an
armed overthrow of our Constitutional Democracy, and have taken a very slim majority in the
House because of the gerrymandering of the districts by state legislature and those dirty districts
were let stand by the SCOTUS because it was too close to the election.

BTW how come the debt is only a problem when a Democrat is President? I hope the senate can
contain the damage from the House Free-Dumb Caucus shit birds.

‘Playing chicken’: Republicans draw battle lines over US debt ceiling
Newly empowered hardline House members are demanding deep spending cuts*
in exchange for raising borrowing limit.

US Treasury secretary Janet Yellen on Friday fired her first warning shot of the year to Congress about the need to raise America’s debt limit — and she minced no words about the potential peril ahead.

“Failure to meet the government’s obligations would cause irreparable harm to the US economy, the livelihoods of all Americans, and global financial stability,” Yellen wrote to lawmakers.

Newly empowered hardline House Republicans are already demanding deep spending cuts in exchange for raising the borrowing limit beyond its current level of $31.4tn, and the White House and Democrats insist that they will not entertain a deal on that basis.

snip

Some centrist Republicans and Democrats have been considering whether they can circumvent their party leadership with a rare parliamentary manoeuvre known as a “discharge petition” to force a vote on a bill to increase the debt limit.

snip

“Just saying this pre-emptively, before there’s another reckless stand-off: The debt ceiling is a grenade [in] the hands of irresponsible politicians. Reform is way overdue,” Mark Warner, the Democratic senator from Virginia, tweeted on Friday.

....but if you take a poll of Republican voters, they don't want to cut SS or Medicare at all.

But it appears this does not matter to the Crazy Caucus.

If the logic is correct:
"Interest rates will go up,The value of the dollar go down and things cost more.
Your purchasing power goes down, which means inflation goes up. You find it harder to make ends meet and your standard of living declines."
This would effect the stock market and RICH PEOPLES MONEY..
Is this right? What do you think...

very complicated and requires many weeks to implement.

Yes. They will do it. They believe their voters are safe behind ranch barbed wire fence or gated communities. So wrecking government doesn't matter to them.

The American people will blame Biden and the Democrats, rise up, and create a Christian, anti-woke nation. Basically the Handmaid's Tale.

They can't fathom the possibility that they'd be blamed or hated. They see themselves as heros, not villains. They still believe they're the Silent Majority.

... some kind of empty fantasy land where their delusions are reinforced by a feed back loop that tells them about Jesus, guns, BLM, and that science and education aren't real. Just because Glacier National Park's glaciers are all melting and Italy's Po River is drying up that doesn't mean climate change is real.

I blame the fossil fuel industry, Christian Evangelicals, racism, and just being dumb fucks.
