COVID-19 remained the leading cause of law enforcement deaths in 2022 despite the number attributed to the virus dramatically declining.

My guess is that they are unvaccinated at a higher rate than the general population. They certainly don't mask.

The report calls these deaths in the line of duty - but if you aren't getting vaccinated and refuse to mask I don't really think a death from COVID counts as a line-of-duty death. Being a police officer should not entitle your family to the increased benefits associated with a line-of-duty death when your own stupidity caused it.
