..at the home and office of Joe Biden?
Did they curse under their breath or out loud?
It could not help but hurt the MAL stolen documents investigation. The effects might even seep into other investigations?
In my opinion, the impact will be that Donald Trump will not be charged with holding classified documents, but will be charged for obstruction, for holding them after he was requested by the National Archives to return them, and obstructing the search, even after a subpoena from the DOJ. Even after a search warrant, he was still holding classified documents. His lawyers conspired to lie to the FBI.
But, it has not helped the case of Merrick Garland or the Special Counsel Smith, as they do not wish to spend a lot of time debating the "documents" from each side. Time is not their ally.
They may just decide to move on, without that charge in their quiver.

Trump was fired and retired. We don't pay him to do squat.
He should have left all work materials where they belonged.

(136 posts)I don't think it is horrible that he had them, I am sure every single person that has served at that level in government, especially for that length of time does. Guarantee you Bush does, Obama does, as well as cabinet members. Maybe not TSSCI level, but I guarantee you at least Confidential level documents.
The self inflicted wound was President Biden addressing it on 60 minutes and talking about how irresponsible it was for TFG to have them (which it definitely was) but then to have them found in his Delaware home. The UPenn docs don't bother me as much, but the stuff in the garage at his house is a big problem. I agree, technically it is apples and oranges when compared to, haha, the orange, as he is cooperating and not obstructing. But it is definitely a huge optics problem and hamstrings us from banging Drumpf over the head on this subject.

(9,509 posts)These are the kind of things they are trained to deal with on a daily basis, and I can't see their reaction being anything resembling a surprise. And if they have any personal feeling about it, they are also trained to keep them to themselves and not let them interfere with their doing their jobs well.
It is the media that will be speculating about their emotions and motives to no end, making increasingly ridiculous statements with each news cycle.
