What was Santos thinking?!

Really, did he think all of his lies would go unchallenged?

Is he so deluded he believes his BS?

In this age where we find out about every wart and wrinkle of everyone one from the British royals to Hollywood celebrities to national politicians, did Lyin’ George really believe he’d get away with his fantasies?

If so, he’s really stupid.

For years, I lived in the NY-03 district. I voted repeatedly for Santos’ predecessor, Tom Suozzi, for mayor of Glen Cove, Nassau County Executive and for Congress. Even Republicans knew who and what Tom Supzzi was and what he stood for. Santos is almost as big an election turnabout as going from President Obama to Trump. It makes my head spun!

Seems odd in retrospect, especially since a local paper highlighted inconsistencies in Santos’ background. I would’ve expected Robert Zimmerman’s staff to have picked up on those stories. That’s what happens when a campaign only reads the bigger NY papers.

I expect Santos will eventually resign and there will be a special election that will be fierce!

They’ve always been out there in the arts and the business world… only recently they have penetrated politics.

The founding fathers never took into account a total lack of honor. Honor was paramount in their century.
Today infamy and fame are interchangeable.

Side story: We sold everything to retire in Costa Rica.
At the auction we put up our barely used lawn tractor we bought for $2700 for bid.
We hoped for $1800. As the bidding went over the $2700, we thought why wouldn’t someone check in line? The bids kept going up and up until it sold for $3900.
Friends said the guy must be crazy to bid $3900. But my thought was what about the guy that bid $3800. At least two people got caught up in it.

Scratch your head and wonder WTH?

He married her because he needed someone to sign fo his student loans. Everything about him turned out to be a lie. He told everyone his whole family was dead because that made people sympathetic and it kept people from checking up on his stories.

He dumped her as soon as he got what he wanted. But it didn't work. Somehow the courts determined that the marriage was fraud and she didn't get stuck with his $50, 000 in student loans. She's married to a really nice guy now.

His thinking was just so strange.

Because so far in his life, he's been right--fictionalizing his life story, kiting checks, embezzling funds, etc. Why should anything change? He chose the perfect political climate in which to thrive with the perfect political organization as cover, the Republican Party.

Just watched the Bernie Madoff docudrama on Netflix.

Bernie Madoff thought of himself as a 'good guy'. He, too, thought he could get away with it. Until 40 years later when he couldn't. Had the economic meltdown in 2007-08 not occurred, Madoff might have escaped a deep investigation. But those losses across the board were so great, not even a Bernie Madoff could cover them.

Interesting psych evaluation after Madoff was jailed: Narcissistic sociopath.

I suspect Santos falls into the same category. As does Trump.

Birds of a feather.

Interesting times, as they say!

He's just enough of a mid-level grifter he has to occasionally worry about getting caught, but stupid enough that after seeing what TFG managed to pull off, he apparently thinks he can pull off the same.
I doubt if he weren't Russian Mob-adjacent, he would have been able to get as far as he did.
