(20,807 posts)Nothing left to the imagination there. Not something I consider attractive or sexy, but I'm old. Maybe younger guys think this is sexy.

Is the front a triangle?? (if it's not, then why wear it?)

(297,921 posts)I am no prude but would never have worn that back in the day when many of us wore bikinis.
As one former bikini wearer to another!

(28,582 posts)I have to admit, I was a prurient young man, and only slightly less so in my older years. I love looking at photos like that, particularly in mainstream applications, and enjoy a good laugh with everybody else.
All that being said, I always wonder if I had a sister and saw her dressed like that on the beach, what would I think? Im sure I would be upset because I participate in the double standard of many, if not most, American men. And yes, in the regard of sexually related jokes, photos, whatever, I am an utter and complete hypocrite. So sue me.
Now let us hear your thoughts on the democracy analogy
That is way too uncomfortable for me to ever have contemplated wearing it but then there were no things in my day

(28,582 posts)Unfortunately, as a male, I never had the kind of build where I could wear a suggestive bathing suit in order to be more attractive to women. I was born without sufficient mass of abdominal muscles, and even when I was a competitive athlete had a somewhat more than slight pouch. I was playing competitive tennis, running five or 7 miles a day in cross country, working out, and there was absolutely nothing I could do anatomically to develop that area. so I view people slightly differently, despite my tendency towards being a prurient voyeur, because I know that there are structural limitations for many of us.

(28,476 posts)We all could be fit. But we aren't.
My mother was the world's biggest prude, so I don't think I'll never out-grow/out-age my rebellious nature.
So, kids, if ya got it, flaunt it!
But this old gal gotta cover up her bits & main parts - I'm far from being a 105lb fit & thin gal now.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
