Lies are not a laughing matter, however funny and insane are the exploits of Anthony Devolder.
The Big Lie not only brought us the violence of the January 6 Insurrection, it has now spread to local communities, as defeated candidates resort to shooting up the homes of their Democratic opponents, all in the lie that their election was rigged.
Lies are dangerous and should never be tolerated under any circumstances.

(47,014 posts)They do it for a number of reasons.
Violence/chaos creates a docile, fearful populace, more willing to look for cult leaders.
Also they wish to damage US institutions, discourage Dems for running for office.
And professionals from working for public agencies or schools.
The world autocrats funding the GOP also want to prove how out of control democracies are.
They are mocking US freedoms by weaponizing them.

(47,014 posts)It is right out of the KGB handbook. And one Putin has been doing all over Europe.
Part of the war Putin has been waging against western democracies.
The beauty is now that the GOP are his puppets, everything is blamed on them.
And now considered just normal US politics.
Saudi/Iran/China/Russia have been very successful in damaging western democracies.

(47,014 posts)Putin has done this in Europe with great success, his puppets run on this issue across Europe
and get a lot of votes.
Same here in US.
The irony is that both Russia and China are suffering from very low birth rates, big population drops.
If they would start taking in refugees it would greatly help their economies.

(21,323 posts)If only DOJ had done its job and not allowed a pro-Trump, bogus company with a mailbox for an office to have access to ballots, voter information, election material and equipment, all in violation of Title 52, federal law. Maybe the Big Lie and the fraudits would have not spread across the country? Shit, we are still counting ballots in Pa. Waiting to act has consequences, too much caution turns into immunity.

(21,755 posts)In a thread about lies you put out a whopper you have used many times here and has been shown to be untrue many times.
Title 52 regards voting rights:
https://www.justice.gov/crt/title-52-voting-and-elections-subtitle-i-and-ii
That would be crimes trying to prevent people from voting, not audits. Though the state gave them the contract to do the audit was stupid and should have gotten them all voted out, it was legal.

In everything he writes, Andy offers perspective that leaves you seeing your world and your life in a completely different way. He mines history for examples and then applies what he has learned to his readers lives...
Through the lens of the Holocaust, Andy examines how Hitler was able to get eleven million people to march to their deaths with so little resistance. In short, he lied to them. And, sadly, they believed it. If the truth is what sets us free, we need to ask what it means to live in a society where truth is absent, where we are routinely lied to by politicians of both parties, Wall Street, and the media. What is at stake? Can we survive in such a culture of deception? Our only hope, Andy argues, is an informed citizenry that demands truth at every levelfirst from themselves and second from their leaders. We must be able to separate fact from fiction, truth from lies, and hold those who lie accountable.
This is a short book. You can literally read it in less than an hour. But dont be fooled by its size. Its a little book that could be the start of something very big. Its a book you will want to read for yourself and then give to others.
