The debt ceiling and why Republicans are trying to fuck us

Republicans want to cut big government, mainly, Social Security, Medicare, education, and the entire social safety net. Most of them don't want to say this out loud, so they're trying to accomplish it by refusing to raise the debt ceiling.

And what do they want to do with the money saved by cutting these programs? Give tax breaks to the wealthy who are their owners. Who's going to pay for those tax breaks? Us peasants.

Republicans are not like the rest of us. Perhaps evolution skipped over them, or perhaps they have a missing gene. Whatever the reason, they are some of the worst dicks in existence. And they really don't give a shit if any of us live or die. Yet we, the majority, keep playing by rules and trying to focus on progress. What's wrong with us? Don't we recognize a deadly threat when we see it? The damn thing is, most of us see it, but we don't seem to be doing very much about it. (And please don't ask me what we should be doing, as I don't have the answer.)

they seek them out and add to the divide making politics an everyday thing. IMO.

The Trump presidency has emboldened the extreme conservatives to go for the gold. They seem oblivious to the fact that Trump lost and the mid-term red wave never materialized. They have a razor thin majority in the House but seem stuck on the misconception that it's much bigger.

I don't think they have the leverage that they think they do. I'm not even sure they can hold their small majority together.

They are getting killed on reproductive freedom. It will get even worse if they start fucking with SSI.

I also think Biden could make the argument that raising the debt ceiling to pay bills is an executive duty, since the legislation to spend the money has already been approved by the legislative branch. I think there is a strong constitutional argument to be made.

with a safe 6-3 conservative majority. They know they have the power now and will use it, as we have already seen, for years to come.

WTF is wrong with their voters? Seems their hatreds are stronger than their self-interest. And the Republicans will spend the next two years building on those hatreds and increasing divisiveness. That seems to be there only game plan and whether it works or not, it does not bode well for the country.

I'm not convinced the current group of Republicans will hold together as they previously have. I think the mainstream Republicans want to distance themselves from the crazies.

...party. I suspect as they (the Magats, Bobert, Gaetz, etc.) keep losing, they may form a third party of nitwits, malcontents, Proud Boys et al in the service of owning the libs. Just remember how poorly past third party groups fared in past elections. They may win in deep red states but not at the Federal level.

to 70 years of age.

I have to say that I just turned 65 years old.
I have zero issues that would prevent me from working but I do not think that is the norm.
Since I hit my sixties there has been an increase with people who I grew up with that are just dying. There will be an email or something on Facebook but it happens weekly or so it seems.
My point of the post is too many people will not or cannot make it to seventy so the republican’s suck.
