I hate to beat this drum. But just posting a link to Musk's fouled platform is a disservice.

Since so many here on DU say that they get their "news" from twitter - be aware - Musk is in control of what you see and will track you.

If you like Musk - fine - keep on just posting twitter links.

But if you understand that he is not in this to forward accurate news clips, then you are participating in his propaganda network.

by their students because that's who they are and how much they care.

Teaching is an art, a dedication and a calling. Under appreciated, under paid and over worked.

The connection was made early on and was made again all these years later. It’s wonderful.

connection exists with every teacher and every student.

I went to my 50th High School reunion and ran into my english teacher, Mr Story (kinda' fits right?) I was a bit of a cut dicipline problem in his class and we had more than one confrontation. So I said to him, 'You know I have a MS in English after all that." He said, "I know. You were destined for it."

My Republican Rep has gone full MAGA, held a rare telephone Town Hall right before the election and we heard afterwards that she blocked constituent questions that disagreed with her and challenged her "policies." And now everyone's heard of her since she became a national embarrassment...

I cringe every time I hear her name (often mispronounced) on the national news, she's become a national embarrassment. There were protests from her first day in office, but she's not concerned with constituents, only in getting what she wants which is power.

There was a billboard campaign after her cringeworthy appearance on national TV alongside Gym Jordan during the second impeachment hearing. I used to pass this one on my way home:

Teachers-
May you one day have the great fortune
to meet up with a former student
who awes you beyond words.
Today was that day for me.

Looking at that little girl's sloping scrawl, one gets the distinct impression that she's left-handed.
