They just need to get over it. It's like when abusive men lose control of their wives who've finally had enough and they kill them.

centuries. Now, when things are sort of half-ass improving for those people and they've made a few gains, some white male heteros feel 'put upon' and whine. It's unbelievable!

And they blame all those non white-male-heteros for all economic woes, loss of manufacturing jobs in the US, loss of worker rights, jobs sent overseas, stagnant wages, etc. All while voting for Republicans who largely are at fault for these things and who want to keep them this way. AND who also want take away their social security & Medicare. Convincing people (esp white men) to blame others (other than Republicans) for their economic woes is what the Republican Party excels at. "It's those damn immigrants, blacks, women, gays - they're all ruining our country and taking our jobs!" This article explains it well:

Although many forces came into play to produce these heartbreaking events, a crisis of white identity drove them. More than a half-century ago, minorities, women and immigrants began to challenge the economic, political and legal hierarchy that had favored white men for centuries. Their efforts produced a white backlash that burst into the open after Barack Obama’s election in 2008.

Donald Trump has tapped into this anger and manipulated it to his political advantage. The bond between President Trump and his white followers is not based on policy but on grievance. They both reject the cultural changes over the past half-century, and Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan signals his intent to unravel them. Last week in Phoenix, he extolled his overwhelmingly white audience as “honest, hard-working taxpaying … Americans who love our nation, obey our laws and care for our people.” He warned that the hated media was trying to “take away our history and our heritage,” fanning the flames of white discontent.

The past five decades have not been kind to the white, heterosexual men who made up the overwhelming majority of those who invaded Charlottesville and who support the white nationalist movement. Until the 1960s, white men sat unchallenged atop the United States’ cultural and economic pyramid.

They did not have to compete against women or African Americans in the workplace, and they benefited from laws and customs that sustained their privileged position. They not only ruled the workplace, they dominated American politics and exercised virtually unchallenged power at home.

. . .

And then their world exploded. African Americans, unwilling to accept the legacy of Jim Crow, confronted the white power structure in the South. With the help of liberal allies, they pushed Congress to pass two major pieces of civil rights legislation that outlawed legal discrimination. Feminists, inspired by these successes, challenged laws that confined them to traditional roles in the private sphere. They smashed the notion that women could not be lawyers, doctors and corporate leaders, and they made clear they were not content to be subservient housewives. They were later joined by the LGBT community that demanded equal treatment while questioning traditional conceptions of gender and sexuality.

And, of course, he is a LIAR. CA is NOT paying black residents 5 mil each. That is simply a non-binding proposal from one commission, proposed last week.

It's not even happening and there is more than a good chance it won't! It's just a bunch of whining. So whoever wrote that is just whining about something that hasn't even happened yet - that one commission is discussing in CA. Holy moly.

But the ones who are always the brainwashed MAGAt Trumpers/MRAs, militia, govt-hating types. This rant is just the epitome of their attitudes - a total verification of why some white males are so angry and aggrieved. It's the Trumpublican Party in a nutshell. It's what drives much of what they do (that and billionaires + big corporate MONEY which they protect to the total exclusion of virtually everyone else in America including the dumb MAGAts who vote for them)

In the late 1970s, I was persuaded to accept a job in a group where there were no other professional women. I was brought in by someone 3 levels higher than me because he was impressed by work the group I was in did for his organization. Even being more educated and favored by upper management did not prevent near daily sexist comments.

One thing I heard a lot was that all the best jobs were going to women even though we were less qualified. What was true was that mediocre male job holders really did do less well than the cohort about 10 years older than me. Highly qualified, smarter women and minority simply got a chance to get some of those jobs. However, a white male, especially one with some connections was far more likely to be fast tracked and get ahead.

In today's world, the last few generations have faced much greater challenges than my peers. For many people, they do not see the possibility of achieving their parents' lifestyle. Like then, they look for scapegoats to blame.

..and the Republican Party is good at convincing them to blame others (women, people of color, Latinx, immigrants, LGBTQs and their pronouns, etc.) - it keeps the focus off of the Republicans who are the real culprits who are robbing them of a decent life. And then the icing on top is the 'family values' / abstinence/women at home crap, which is meaningless to GOP politicians but markets well to the evangelical crowd.

they've lost exclusivity, not power. They still have all the fucking power. Look at Congress...yes, we (people who aren't white and male) have made some inroads, but it's still mostly white men.

These whiners are nothing but losers who squandered their unearned privilege and just ended up with less than what they figured was theirs by decree.

Many of us white males did just fine by (eventually) recognizing that our life’s road was paved, with all our efforts unconditionally rewarded. That itself is the very definition of privilege, and remains so until every demographic is equally rewarded.

But these blubbering clowns couldn’t even hobble their way down that paved road. As far as I’m concerned, they can rot in their circle-jerk of self-pity while the rest of us continue to push society toward an equitable co-existence.
