(16,412 posts)I don't expect Biden to be prosecuted, because his and his team are projecting such transparency and willingness to cooperate.
Will Trump be prosecuted for this? I certainly hope so. I realize some people are absolutely convinced that he will never be prosecuted for anything whatsoever, no matter what, but I don't think that's a safe assumption anymore, although it might have been at one time.
By November 2020, he ha already broken some laws, but if he had simply finished out his term in a civilized fashion after losing, I think he probably would have been able to walk away in January 2021 without major repercussions. But instead, he kept on doing more and more worse and worse stuff in his ludicrous attempts to overturn the election (no need to elaborate since we all know the whole story).
He went so far that I think we're in completely uncharted waters at this point. No other president has ever done anything close to what he's done, and therefore we have no prior events of this magnitude with which to compare and nothing comparable to base any predictions on. That's how I see it.
