(17,441 posts)You'll see an option "Create poll" right under where you normally type your post.
hlthe2b
(102,283 posts)scroll down to where you see "create poll" and then it will walk you through the process, which is easy. You really only need three choices:
yes, no and uncertain.
But, it looks like you are getting plenty of responses on this thread so maybe next time.

(621 posts)I got my third shot (booster) either right before or after I caught the virus. So, I wasn't sure at first if it was the vaccine or the virus making me feel mildly bad.

róisín_dubh
(11,795 posts)but given how much exposure I've had in the last several months (I mask, but I work at a university and frequently have to take the train), I'm very grateful for the Omicron booster.
Had a mild case in July 2021 and an even milder case in March 2022. Been good (but more careful for the most part) even since.

(844 posts)Felt off forthe last few days took a test this morning positive. Up to date on vax and booster I go almost nowhere this time of the year besides working in my shop. Oxygen is good very slight temperature.
I can count on one hand the amount of people I have seen in the last 3 weeks, contacted them all isolating from my wife who currently tested negative.
Worst is muscle ache.
Each was not difficult for me at all. Very mild.

(13,570 posts)but I am recovering from RSV Virus, which now has a vaccine available. Fourteen days of coughing, extreme fatigue, etc.
Interestingly, I caught it in my doctor's waiting room from a little lady who was coughing and coughing with a cheap paper mask.

(24,890 posts)Haven't had allergies or a cold or scratchy throat since before December 2019.
Felt a little wonky last summer for a day but had 3 negative tests.
Fully vaxxed and boosted and wear a kn95 in public indoor places.
On occasion have to speak unmasked at meetings with dozens of unmasked people but keep the mask on when not speaking.
Combo of luck and prevention.

(15,090 posts)Ive spent the last three weeks in hospitals and nursing facilities, so Im frankly depending on my vaccinations because Im unwilling to keep an N95 mask clamped to my face for weeks. Staff is supposed to be masked, but thats pretty lax. Aides go into the covid area with definitely inadequate protection. Covid testing is a jokethe swab barely touches. Ill be glad to go home.
That sounds worrisome. Here's to staying healthy and going home as soon as you can.

(21,155 posts)I was so sick couldnt get out of bed for three days. It was before Covid was a thing. My husband also had this bad flu that we thought it was at the time. Since then no Covid. My son had his 3 shots and tested positive last year but he said it was just like a bad cold and was better days later.
I laugh and say smoking pot has kept us from getting the new strain of Covid! Several people I know who smoke pot have never had Covid. Im not a pothead but I like a little smoke sometimes.

(21,675 posts)But it lasted for 5 days. Really sick - high fever, terrible headache that wouldn't go away, vomiting, etc. On the fifth day, went to my dr and she could offer nothing in the way of diagnosis. I even asked her if maybe it was this new virus, but she didn't know. All vaccinated now. My oldest is a hardhead and just getting over his third go-round with the Rona. He still won't vaccinate
Hmmm, maybe it IS the herb.

At this point, assume everyone will come in contact with the virus somehow, all you can do is prepare to encourage lower viral loads and a less worse outcome .

(418 posts)After two shots and one booster. My wife and I were driving from Vermont to Southern Baja California via Florida. (the long way, so we could visit friends and family.)
When we got to Arizona, my wife was feeling a little rough, cold symptoms and scratchy throat, so I took us to get tested when we were at my sister's house in Tucson. I thought we especially needed to be tested because we had been traveling. She tested positive, me negative. Two days later, I tested positive. I blame Florida. Every retail establishment felt like a super spreader event.
We're in our mid sixties. Thanks to vaccines and reasonably good health, our symptoms were very, very mild.

(35,317 posts)First time was untested but very not cool. Don't like fever spiking to 103.8 or 104.0.
Sadly, it was sniffles Friday and fever broke Sunday at 7 pm, so back to work Monday morning. (That was my illness profile in junior high and high school. Sick Friday night, better by Monday night. Sucked.)
Second time the test came back crystal clear, but fever never broke 100 F.
Two shots + 2 boosters. Figure the first bout was too close to the booster for it to have any efficacy.

(27,813 posts)I am fully vaccinated and triple boosted and mask in elevators, on mass transit, and in the grocery store (and when I need to stand in lines). I distance and mostly work from home.
So I am pretty careful,
not to the level I was in 2020 and 2021, but I take reasonable precautions.

(10,168 posts)Fully vaccinated for January bout. I was terrified I was going to die because I have 3 risk factors. But I came out of it ok. Bad cough, and massive fatigue. GI distress and headaches.
Round two in November '22 was a surprise because we had all gotten our Omicron boosters and flu shots in early Oct. I was positive for about 5 or 6 days and just felt punk with headaches, and my husband and grown daughter who lives with us never tested positive at all.
We were and continue to be diligent hand washers, mask wearers (in crowds and clinics), and we were still wiping incoming groceries until this Fall. We barely left the house for a year and a half, and it's been slow going trying to feel comfortable about going out to places. We ventured out to a huge arcade in our town with two of our grandkids and that's when I got the 2nd round of COVID. We dug back in like groundhogs, lol.

(612 posts)Fortunately, I was fully vaccinated. Stayed at home, followed Doctor's instructions. No hospitalization. And I'm an old guy, so I'm really happy that I got through it. Just had a medical check-up last week, and I'm in excellent shape.

(8,712 posts)Not vaxxed because of history of anaphylaxis. Bad muscle aches & low fever for 2 days - then better, but severe fatigue for 9 days - I only got up for 30 minutes twice a day to feed my animals and eat something. I wear my mask everywhere but ran into a basically empty store for 5 minutes when I forgot my mask in my car- unmasked cashier coughed on me.
What was so bizarre was - my pain was only on the right side of my body (zero pain on left) - from my head to the bottom of my ribs. My ribs felt broken. Ive since read of others having only one sided pain with Covid.

(32,639 posts)I had a brief, extremely mild bout of Covid after Thanksgiving, courtesy of my nephew who didn't wear a mask and didn't warn any of us. Mine only lasted 4 or 5 days with no fever, no cough or sore throat. My only symptoms were hoarseness for a few days and loss of taste and smell for about 4 days. Out of an abundance of caution, I quarantined myself for almost 2 weeks.

(845 posts)I had something last year that was different from anything Ive ever had. I had chills and fever. Lasted about 1 week. Stayed in bed a couple of days. Felt like crap. Tested twice negative both times. My granddaughter had it a couple weeks before so Im thinking it was Covid just mild. My hubby hasnt had it thank goodness. I think he is one of the lucky ones

(23,102 posts)Hubs and I have kept up with all the boosters too. Hubs was exposed 2 weeks ago, but so far neither of us are sick. I have my usual runny nose and occasional cough from allergies, like always, but nothing else. I am surprised, but guess the vaccines worked!

(19,066 posts)Once in the Fall of 2020, was mild, but I was tired for a few weeks and had a low grade headache for a week longer than that.
And again over Christmas 2021, fully vaxxed at the time, was awful. Was really miserable for a week, the worst sore throat I've ever experienced. Seriously, I didn't think it possible to have a sore throat as bad as that. Fever, chills, and fatigue, went away and I was back to full strength a week after that.
Both times, the first symptom I got was diarrhea the day before any other symptoms showed.
I am fully up to date on the vaccines and will get another one when it is recommended. Really think the vaccine saved me from a really severe case the 2nd time around.
