Were they comparing notes?
They share an affinity for golf and an aversion to cooperating witnesses who flip to help federal investigators.
But former president Donald Trump and former Philly mob boss Joseph Skinny Joey Merlino dont have much to say about how they wound up in a photo together at a South Florida golf course.
Trump posed for the photo with Merlino earlier this month at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach. The two, along with an unidentified third man, flash Trumps customary thumbs-up hand signs and smiles while wearing golfing attire.

(25,550 posts)First of all, sometimes what is left unsaid speaks volumes. And that is the point of my post that there really is not much else to say that is terrible and everybody gets a picture or should. This so-called former president is meeting with disgraced fifth level Philly mobsters who were stupid enough to threaten an FBI agents family. Its about as low as it gets and the old mob here would just be revolted by these idiots behaviors, if these guys hadnt murdered them all first.

(19,066 posts)Mob movies, starting with the Godfather, I believe have caused great harm to society by romanticizing mobsters. There is nothing noble about organized crime. The individuals engaged in it are lazy cowards who exist in their communities as parasites who take from hard working people. There's nothing noble about shaking people down for money, there's nothing noble about loan sharking or sex trafficking. The mob doesn't leave behind anything for regular people, they take everything for themselves. It's a bunch of sick lowlifes, Don Corleone was a totally made up portrayal.
A former president pictured a mobster who is a mass murderer, who sold cocaine, who was involved in schemes to steal money from health insurers in Florida. Etc etc. He's pure scum. Getting pictured with him should be looked down on the same as getting pictured with a famous pedophile is. Just disgusting people.
