Trump declares himself winner of his own club championship - in Trumpiest way ever

The former president said he played a strong round two days before the tournament, and decided that would count as his first-round score.

Donald Trump has declared himself a winner … again.

Trump announced on his social media platform on Tuesday that he won the Senior Club Championship at Trump International Golf Club in unincorporated West Palm Beach last weekend, despite not playing the first round of the tournament.

Members arrived the second day surprised to see Trump with a five-point lead, according to the Daily Mail. But Trump never played the first round as he was attending a funeral in North Carolina of ardent supporter Lynette Hardaway, known by the moniker “Diamond” of the conservative political commentary duo Diamond and Silk.

Trump told tournament organizers he played a strong round on the course Thursday, two days before the tournament started, and decided that would count as his Saturday score for the club championship. That score was five points better than any competitor posted during Saturday's first round.

A sports figure who played a round with Trump was quoted, "Trump doesn't cheat, his caddie does".

I also understand his caddie is the only contractor to not get stiffed by the orange anus; silence comes at a price.

The field of players are supposed to play the same course and conditions. When Trump played his round, the tee boxes and hole locations were different than when the competitors played. The grass may have been wetter or dryer. Even the temperature and humidity can affect the game. All of these things change the course.

Of course, the man-baby has to win and get his two scoops of ice cream. Pathetic.

They kinda had to because he has a history of firing people for no reason, but it still sounds suspect to me.

I’m now thinking back to my late company president Duane Hagadone, who built a very fine golf course as part of his Resort. He had a standing order: if we ever have a tournament out here, you are not allowed to let me enter it.

Jan 2023

There was a sports writer who grew up around the game of golf, to whom it is almost sacred. I think it was Rick Reily, but he wrote a book and was doing the circuit discussing it, especially since he played with Trump on a couple of occasions. He gave a lecture at the Commonwealth Club of California in 2019 about how Golf can explain Donald Trump. It was pretty good.

Golf is supposedly a game of honor. It is actually quite easy to cheat. There really aren't referees like in Football, Basketball, Soccer, etc... That Trump habitually cheats says all we need to know about his character, or lack thereof.

The story goes that Trump sees the guy who won the club championship that year on the course. Trump says he was out of town that weekend so why don’t we play now for the title. This guy, obviously a pretty good player, agrees mostly because you know it’s his course. He was playing a round with his son when this started. Trump beat him over 9 holes and had the name changed in the plaque.

I’m not sure if this started because Trump was about to play this guy’s sons ball (Trump does that a lot) and when confronted Trump came up with this 9 hole thing. It could be all together on the same day.

I guess the answer is trump.

I would say that a “real” man with any sort of self esteem would be perfectly fine with not winning every competition they are a part of.

A “real” man and a true leader would be just fine with not always being the best at every stupid little competition.

Just saying…

TFG cheats at every thing and cannot accept that he loses at anything. I am seeing a number of articles poking fun at TFG's cheating at golf.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rick-reilly-trump-golf-cheat_n_6603bd13e4b07b8c86dfbc4e

Sportswriter Rick Reilly is calling BS on Donald Trump after the former president declared himself the winner of both the club championship and senior club championship at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida.

“He’s never won a championship at a course he doesn’t own and operate,” Reilly, who has golfed with Trump, said on MSNBC on Tuesday. “He’s played in Pebble Beach, he’s played in the Tahoe one, where there are rules and judges and cameras. And in those, he’s never finished in the top half. So he wins when anybody who disagrees that he won is out of the club. That’s how he gets it.”

Reilly, who wrote an entire book on how Trump cheats at golf, said the former president even confessed one of his methods: When he buys a golf course, he plays the first round alone and declares himself the course champion.

And that’s not the only trick up Trump’s sleeve.

Reilly said golfers have to trust each other because of the vast distances on the course and the fact that no referees are keeping watch ― and Trump takes full advantage of that.

The former president “always gets a turbo-charged golf cart that goes three times as fast as yours, so he’s always 200 yards ahead, and that gives him time to cheat.”
