One of America's two major parties seems intent on destoying America

COVID has killed over one million Americans. It seems to me that Republicans represent a far more dangerous disease than COVID. They represent an "ideology" that can kill American democracy.

Every sane American must understand that the Republican Party is what our founders referred to as "domestic enemies."

Ordinarily, I would make a case for that previous sentence. But do I really have to? Anyone who doesn't see the danger of today's Republican Party, (and the danger of a large part of their base), doesn't "get it" and never will.

Until the current era, I didn't know that racism, bigotry, and outright hatred of "THE OTHER" outweighed self-interest. But the ignorance of Republican voters might just end up with the death of our freedoms, and the death of countless human beings. But then, the Republicans in charge would call those deaths "collateral damage." And, yes, that "collateral damage" thing means us.

Limbaugh may be dead, but his ideology definitely isn't. It's alive, well, thriving, and extremely profitable. Until we start fighting back against the right wing bullshit machine, this cycle of self destruction in this country is going to keep repeating itself until we're eventually all dead. We need to start addressing this problem now. I've been saying for years that the propaganda is the problem and it's only going to get worse if we don't start doing something about it.

There should be true competition in 'the press'. Most of what most Americans see and hear come from 6 conglomerates, all controlled by super rich. Libertarians, fascists, and would-be oligarchs favor a weak, ineffective government they can control. Controlling the messages to voters strongly influences elections while gathering more riches via campaign advertisements.

Higher levels of education favor liberalism. This is why Republicans have waged war on education for over 40 years.

Each time Republicans gain power, they install people who work against what each federal agency was created to do.

6. We are trying to avoid another Civil War

Over 600,000 Americans died in the Civil War, more than the number of Americans that died in virtually all our wars combined.

I guess the question is, how do we avoid another Civil War, when that seems to be the goal of many Republicans. Only, this time, it would be a lot uglier. The Civil War of 1860 thru 1864 had geographical boundaries. Another Civil War would be neighbor against neighbor. It could turn into an American Armageddon.

This concept may seem extreme to many here, but far too many who call themselves Republicans would welcome it. And to me, that makes them insane.

when shrinking government by banning tax increases, until it could be drowned in a bathtub began.

The goal is a federal government no stronger than the government of Wyoming or North Dakota.

At that point the Feds won't be able to enforce regulations and will be too poor to cover SS, medicare and medicaid.

The hard-core movement started with a conman with a slogan of MAGA.
These "patriots" had a slogan saying America wasn't great!
With that as the launching point it should obvious they want to tear down what they hate!
