Paul Pelosi Attacker Calls In to TV Station to 'Apologize' for Not Going Far Enough

David DePape, the man who allegedly attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer in October, called in to a California news station on Friday to “apologize” for not going far enough with his attack.

DePape, who allegedly broke into the Pelosi home and attacked the then-House speaker’s husband, told KTVU he had an “important message” to share during a five-and-a-half minute phone call.

He said he attacked Pelosi because “liberty isn’t dying, it’s being killed systematically and deliberately.”

The “people killing it have names and addresses, so I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit . . . have a heart to heart chat about their bad behavior,” said DePape, who faces state charges of attempted murder and elder abuse and federal charges for kidnapping.

I apologize for using the National Review but right-wing media seems to be the only thing covering this story.

Looks like DePape has probably screwed himself with this call.

5. Probable long history of untreated mental illness, difficulties

taking care of himself, but worsening.

People who've known and worked with him more recently describe him seeming to deteriorate over the past year and a half as he became increasingly irrational, extremist, and conspiracist. Some feel they should have done more, but he's a quiet guy and they didn't realize how how profound the deterioration was.

He'd had broad L-R swings in beliefs over the years, but more recently increasingly showed the same effects as millions of vulnerable people of predatory RW internet radicalizing far, far outside the norm.

The genuinely horror-story delusions he's been caught up in have now turned him into a violence-prone menace to society, but his social media posts show this was after the predators came for him.

California has options on sentencing on their charges: 13 years to life. The Feds can sentence him up to 50 years. No doubt they will choose whatever option will keep him put away the longest.
