but here's why I probably would not have come.

My husband and I invited no one to our wedding, just sent out announcements, whhci we put into the mail on our way out of town after the wedding.

Of course my mother knew, as we were living in the same household at the time, and we offered to make an exceptio for her; if she would like to be there, we'd be happy to have her,

Her reply: "When your father and I were married, it was just us. I would not want to deprive you of that special experience."

That was almost 39 years ago. May you have as much time, and more.
