This is just one reason that Twitter Sucks. The lie spreads quickly.
In a Tuesday tweet, Punchbowl News reporter Heather Caygle wrote that Raskin had received a standing ovation in a House Democratic Caucus meeting after saying hed push back on Republican efforts to make him remove his headwear. And I will make them take off their toupees, Caygle quoted Raskin as saying.
Jacob Wilson, a spokesperson for Raskin, told the AP in an email that Raskin was responding lightheartedly to a hypothetical question from a colleague at the caucus meeting. According to Caygles tweet, he was asked what he would do if Republicans made him take off his headwear on the House floor.
Caygle clarified in a follow-up tweet that Raskin said no House Republicans have spoken to him about hat rules. Caygle declined further comment when reached by email. Wilson said the Democrat has received nothing but support and encouragement from all of his colleagues and leaders on both sides of the aisle.

The newly revised rule still bans headwear of the nonreligious kind.
Fuck them if they were misrepresented on this.

(82,383 posts)the pizza gate story is a lot more outlandish. There's some chance some of the crazy Republicans there might have done this. Whereas pizzagate is just insane.

(8,318 posts)Thus is the problem with twitter and other social media platforms. The rush to get unchecked information out. Happens with a lot of stuff. This is silly and small but, big lies move just as quickly.

(85,977 posts)...who cares if republicans were misrepresented on this?
The House rules still prohibit head coverings, and no one should put it past such a nihilistic party to make such a complaint. ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN republicans voted against the wearing of religious headgear. They don't deserve defending on anything, much less this likely accusation.

(8,318 posts)Doubling down on misinformation helps no one. When Speaker Pelosi was the Speaker, there was a prohibition on head coverings, when speaker Wright, Foley, Oneill, Albert McCormack
.they all had rules against head coverings too.
Who cares if the republicans were represented, me, who cares when democrats are misrepresented, me again. Nothing wrong with admitting the mistake and moving on.
