The interview touched on topics such as the war in Ukraine and the recent prolonged struggle to elect a new House speaker before Greene brought up some personal complaints.
Greene cited financial losses as one of the negative aspects of her role as a representative. According to official records, rank-and-file members of Congress make $174,000 a year.
"Becoming a member of Congress has made my life miserable. I made a lot more money before I got here. I've lost money since I've gotten here," Greene, who once owned a gym, said. Newsweek could not independently verify her previous salary.

So, she's on record for term limits, thinks she's under-paid, and is miserable.
Does she need to be reminded that she's free to quit any time she wants to? It's not like she's being held hostage.
And the country is pretty miserable with her in the House too. Her leaving would be (apparently) a WIN-WIN.

(805 posts)I was thinking that one of the budget cuts we could make is to reduce the congressional salaries, since most of them are already rich, and getting richer. Oh and get rid of the pension plan, which by the way is 7x what I collect from social security.

(60,186 posts)Oh, wait, it's a matter of public record.
So is the cost of housing in VA and MD. Mark Kelly and Gabby told me it isn't easy, but it can be managed if one lives modestly.
Oh, wait, Republicans do NOT like to live modestly. Well, then go rob a bank or have some cyber whiz-for-hire raid some account of a Russian oligarch in Cyprus and transfer it to you after taking out his fee. Whatever.
Republicans whining about their salaries (paid for out of OUR taxes, in case anyone among them forgot) cutting into their their partying budget--this isn't new. They bring it up periodically, but somehow, budget-cutting never seems to apply to them, but rather to people who earn half (or less) what they do.

(1,043 posts)Interesting. She has the highest paid part time job in America ( congress was only in session for 146 days last year ), and somehow managed to buy an $11 million dollar home. The mansion which has 6 bathrooms is is on par for someone who is full of sh*t.
