Three episodes in, I figured the premise out and blurted it out to them (they had already seen it). They looked at me dismayed and said, "how did you know that". I responded, "Isn't it obvious?". Still a good show and we finished it recently.

Not going to spoil anything.

Spent time in the Muskogee County Correction Camp for protesting the Viet Nam War where I was beaten and had my head shaved. Marched with Hosea Williams in GA...

Anyone who thinks there's something with being a boomer can kiss my grits. (Wonder how many people here will recognize that reference, heh.)

DU is one place on the internet where I'm not self-conscious about being old and never feel the need to apologize for it. I'd be really sad to see that change.

been called that a time or two. First time I didn't even know what the heck they were talking about. I went home and did a search. I chalked it up to ignorance for anybody to call us that as a term of disparagement. Somebody who is one of us has some advice for moving through life. Most of those who would use the term we're talking about have heard much of this. Their loss.

Idiots, Illiberals, Leftwing Extremists, Disloyal & Fake Progressives. All those are used by some here because they believe the people they are using it on are not towing the party line enough or assume negative motives. You won't persuade anyone by using those either. I'm glad that this site is welcoming to more than just Democrats.

Core principles
Democratic Underground is an online community for friendly, politically liberal people who understand the importance of working together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. Constructive criticism of Democratic politicians, party officials, and public figures is welcome and encouraged, but we expect our members to follow our forum rules and participate in a manner which promotes a positive atmosphere.

Members are not expected to hold across-the-board progressive opinions on every single issue, but we do expect members to be generally progressive and to support Democrats at election time -- remember that and respect it when posting. Harsh, divisive, partisan attacks against Democrats or progressive values (from the right or the left) are not welcome here.

But above all, we want our members to be friendly to each other. The vast majority of our members are thoughtful people who care about issues, and most of us can handle a different opinion if it is shared in a respectful way. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, a little human kindness goes a long way toward smoothing over our differences and making this place feel like a community.

positive atmosphere."

Democrats shouldn't be insulted with name-calling, the Democratic Party accused of not being progressive and needing to be replaced, that's the point. There are plenty of other places for non-Democrats. Name-calling and insults aren't constructive criticism.
