been called that a time or two. First time I didn't even know what the heck they were talking about. I went home and did a search. I chalked it up to ignorance for anybody to call us that as a term of disparagement. Somebody who is one of us has some advice for moving through life. Most of those who would use the term we're talking about have heard much of this. Their loss.

Idiots, Illiberals, Leftwing Extremists, Disloyal & Fake Progressives. All those are used by some here because they believe the people they are using it on are not towing the party line enough or assume negative motives. You won't persuade anyone by using those either. I'm glad that this site is welcoming to more than just Democrats.

Democratic Underground is an online community for friendly, politically liberal people who understand the importance of working together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. Democrats shouldn't be insulted with name-calling, the Democratic Party accused of not being progressive and needing to be replaced, that's the point. There are plenty of other places for non-Democrats. Name-calling and insults aren't constructive criticism.
